Two Sold Out Shows for Avishai Cohen at the Jazz Standard
Avishai Cohen celebrated the release of “After the Big Rain” (available now at anzicstore.com and in stores July 17) with two sold out shows at New York’s Jazz Standard, as part of the JVC Festival World Jazz Nights.
Anat Cohen Wins Jazz Journalists Awards, Downbeat Critics Poll
Anat Cohen was honored with two major awards by the Jazz Journalists Association: Clarinetist of the Year, and Up and Coming Musician of the year. And in the August issue of Downbeat, hitting stands soon, she is voted Rising Star Clarinetist of the year in the magazine’s long-running annual critics poll. Cohen’s JJA honors represent two milestones. This is the first time a female has claimed the Up and Coming Musician of the Year award, and the first time that any musician has claimed that honor and a single instrument category win simultaneously. Congratulations!
