3 Cohens 
Yuval, Anat and Avishai Cohen are siblings from Tel-Aviv, Israel. They grew up with parents who shared and supported their passion for music. As children, they studied music at the same conservatory and schools for the arts. They practiced at home, together and separately (but still within hearing distance of each other), for years. In the process they got to know each other’s musical instincts extremely well.
All three siblings ultimately chose to focus their musical studies on jazz. In turn, each one attended Berklee College of Music in Boston and then moved to New York. Each sibling pursued his or her own musical vision by creating or participating in a variety of ensembles. Each one became a respected musician and bandleader. In 2003, Yuval, Anat and Avishai realized a longstanding dream by recording “One”, their debut album playing together as the 3 Cohens.
“Braid” is their second release. It pairs the joy of family music making with skilled individual artistry. With support from Aaron Goldberg, Eric Harland and Omer Avital, the siblings meld their individual and shared musical experiences. Completing each other’s phrases, seamlessly intertwining solo and accompaniment, initiating and responding to nuanced changes in pitch and articulation, they weave their individual voices into one.
Siblings Yuval, Anat and Avishai Cohen have been playing together since childhood.
