Big Band: Live At Dizzy's

Recorded live at Dizzy's Club in New York, a room Jared Schonig's big band has played every year and sold out, Live at Dizzy's is the drummer and composer's first live album as a leader, following his double debut Two Takes. The charts come from some of the leading big band arrangers, among them Miho Hazama, Mike Holober, John Daversa, Alan Ferber, Jim McNeely and Laurence Hobgood.

The set mixes Schonig favorites ("Sound Evidence," "White Out," "Climb," "Sabotage") with new music: "Jiggle Jaggle," named by his four-year-old son; "Eight Twenty," written for his wife; and "Canyons," co-written with Adam Neely and featuring vocalist Nicole Zuraitis. Long-time collaborators Matt Clohesy, David Cook, Tony Kadleck and Jason Rigby are joined by Terell Stafford, playing with the band for the first time.
