The Way to You

The Way to You is violinist Sara Caswell’s third album as a leader and the culmination of a 17-year musical journey shaped by collaborations with artists such as Henry Threadgill, Brad Mehldau, and Esperanza Spalding. Eclectic and richly textured, the album blends jazz, folk, Brazilian music, and modern grooves. Standout moments include the jazz-folk pulse of “South Shore,” vibrant guitar–vibraphone exchanges on Kenny Barron’s “Voyage,” and the lyrical intimacy of Tom Jobim’s “O Que Tinha de Ser,” performed on Hardanger d’Amore violin. Caswell’s originals, especially the blues-tinged “Last Call,” highlight her expressive command and genre-crossing vision.
