Live at the Jazz Gallery
Jason Lindner fearlessly leads his big band, pushing it musically and conceptually. The band – formed in 1995 at Greenwich Village's Smalls Jazz Club and armed with many of the creative stars of the New York scene – brings joy and energy, excitement, soulfulness and beauty to this 2-CD release.

Press
“Lindner, a pianist, is also a fascinating writer, who gets into the details, drawing on everything from Steve Reich minimalism to McCoy Tyner modalism, world beats and '70s soul … the blazing energy of this band is a lot like that of the great '70s big bands of Charles Tolliver and Frank Foster … "Rumors," which features the astonishing alto saxophone of Miguel Zenon”
— Richard Scheinin, San Jose Mercury News
“These charts breathe and build beautifully, and though a flame burns in the engine room, you never feel you will be blown over by the blast.”
— Michael Jackson, DownBeat
“Live at the Jazz Gallery is a strong contender for 2007's Top-10 lists. The only conceivable liability is its length—but good luck finding something dispensable.”
— Michael J. West, JazzTimes
